Nearly Native – Colour feat. FEMME
London producer Nearly Native has teamed up with singer FEMME to collaborate on a striking new track, ‘Colour’. Nearly Native produces this rhythmic Garage tune, rich in a “classic rave sound”, and laden with organs and synths, infectious, jangling keys and a pulsing bassline. Femme lends her seductive vocals to the bouncy UKG beat, that are chopped and re-arranged at Nearly Native’s will, to concoct what is a garage-raving, head-nodding banger that will have you moving about no doubt.
Nearly Native is the new project from London based producer James Leggett, a fast-rising producer and musician whose roots lie in Pop and Electronica, and has even been in a band with Hollywood star Jamie Dornan. Nearly Native’s influences come from a wide range of music, including ambient soundscapes and jarring soundtracks from films such as Requiem for a Dream, to the classic UK garage sound. There is a “pure, organic, musical element” at the heart of every production. ‘Colour’ is taken from the producer’s first EP, which will be “a broad and impressive collection of dark and immersive, yet club-friendly, electronica”. Featuring a different singer on each track, FEMME is the first up, and has just released her debut album herself last year. She has also just revealed a new solo track ‘Fire With Fire’, and has sold out a headline show at London’s Heaven this December coming up.
