Hip Hop artist Yates links up with P110 Media’s @LewisRDixon for a brand new feature video for his new track “Closer”. The production samples The Stylistics “You Make Me Feel Brand New”, and with the subtlety mixed with nice drum pattern to the soulful beat, Yates rhymes on the instrumental, speaking on separating real life from the music, spitting about those few people who stick by him, promising to pay them back when he blows,and finding the perfect woman in his life. Yates also drops some wise words about becoming his own man by himself, which leads to getting his own money, and able to drink up in the summertime, and make sure his family don’t have to worry anymore. Yates is a wise lyricist, and has got his priorities in order, focusing on the creativity and realness in his music whilst also staying cool-headed and grinding for a living. Yates also connects with the pain and sorrow which resonates through out the song delivering thoughtful bars with a meandering flow. Check out the music video, a black and white visuals which has had a vintage video roll effect added, not sure why, but the location of the vid is in the studio, Yates surrounded by his clique, drinking up, and having a laugh as they record in the booth, showing Yates in an environment where he probably most at home.
