Parallax – Hip Hop Philosophy (Official Video)

Parallax

Parallax releases a deep, thought provoking track and video entitled Hip Hop Philosphy. Parallax goes in, musing his thoughts on what he feels Hip Hop means. Rapping over an emotive, boom bap style, jazz influenced, melodic beat (Produced by Sam Zircon), cleverly sampling soundbites debating Hip Hop’s culture, Parallax spits intelligent fire on the track, with a smooth flow, occasionally switching it up with a rapid burst. Parallax addresses the scene being taken over by the likes of MTV, rappers trying to look like they’re flossing, despite being signed to a label, run by loan sharks and rappers spitting about “scenes out of Scarface”. Parallax is clearly a rapper who grew up listening to a lot of real Hip Hop, and uses his dismay of the way the culture is being represented to bring you this piece of brilliant music, which could go down as a bit of a timeless classic. Not the usual rap you hear on UK radio stations or the garbage being pushed down your neck via youtube ads. Parallax is a serious artist, and whilst his brutal truths may not be something that some artists want to hear, the Hip Hop community will be onside no doubt. Mature Hip Hop for the real fans of the genre. Big tune. Check out the slick, professional looking video, shot in a moody black & white colour and cutting shots together in the most delicate, yet ruggedly artistic fashion. Leave us your comments below…
