Dezert collabs with L’z for the release of their video for an epic remix of J Cole’s “Let Nas Down”. Dezert and L’z flip the concept of the instru and turn it into an almost emotional hood anthem, where the two mc’s rap about the hardships coming up in the ghetto, trying to make it by any means. The two Londoners flow smoothly over the beat, proving their ability to spit over deep backing track, with a commercial feel to it, but relatable to their original fan base too. Dezert & L’z remind me of the likes of Krept & Konan with their hood style, but lean towards more established acts like Wretch 32 and at times even sounding like young Nas’s themselves. Big tune.
