Rockstarz Cartel/W.A.V.E present Lewisham Grime MC Rhimez’ new four-track EP “Numero Uno” which is produced entirely by fellow W.A.V.E Gang MC/Producer Shannon Parkes aka Esskayy, as well as Snoopa (W.A.V.E/GRM SKL) being on board the project to provide the artwork. Esskayy and Snoopa join Rhimez on the title track ‘Numero Uno’, all three shelling skippy, up-tempo grime beat by Shannon Parkes, and Rhimez goes all out from the start with forceful delivery and much energy, spitting bars filled with punchlines, even laying down a hook which further reiterates that these three mc’s consider themselves superior to rival mc’s. Both Esskayy and Snoopa bring some greaze and hype respectively. A skippy riddim which sets the pace for the rest of the EP, ‘SMS (Save My Soul)’ is trapesque grime track on which Rhimez lets off lyrical steam, furiously attacking the flaws of other mc’s in the game. ‘None Of Them Dudes’ is another punchy trap beat with booming bassline and Rhimez continues to display skippy, fast-paced flows, and further distances himself from any of the current crop of rappers and mc’s on a fake hype ting. ‘SGWG’ or Since Grime Weren’t Grime takes it back to the pure Grime wave, and Rhimez recalls his memories of Grime from way back when it was one line flows, reloads and white labels, and he boldly states that he is unmatched when it comes to lyrics and bars. This one features a brilliant chorus from Rhimez which is excellently written and constructed, and rather infectious too.
