New Zealand Grime Producer Risko presents to you his new EP ‘Bedroom Producer’ via his bandcamp. The project features four instrumentals, with Risko capturing the essence of old school grime, with the producer delivering four energetic lively beats, incorporating hi-hats, claps and snares that are very much prominent in the production. ‘Shutdown’ is one of those said beats, with Risko also throwing in vocal sfx for good measure. ‘Power’ features a thumping beat along with cowbells strategically constructed, and also more vocal samples, and Risko also introduces a dutty bassline. ‘Grime Curator’ is more ambient, with Risko layering up skippy percussion with church-style piano instruments, giving the vibe a whole dark twist. ‘Hype’ is another thumping beat, with a flat bassline, and does exactly what it says, Risko brings the hype yet more lively hi-hats, snares and claps, with the bassline, in my opinion, being one of the driving forces on this particular beat.
