UK Hip Hop MC Roadidendren releases a brand new track via soundcloud called ‘Radio’, and which is another comical social commentary taken from her forthcoming album ‘The Empress’s New Clothes’. Roadidendren rhymes over scurrying piano led keys and a lowly bass driven instrumental, spitting about her own perspective on the radio. Feeling like there is no real music being played any more, she seems frustrated with the lack of lyrical insight, lacklustre singles, and music that is constantly being played, fooling us in to thinking what is a great tune, when in fact the artists are backed by the industry with the big bucks Lastly, she addresses image, artists conforming to a certain image which music video channels like. Excellent creativity from Roadidendren with the song writing and the subject matter, reminding of the likes of Lily Allen on the chorus with dreamy singing, whilst her rhyme style is quite fresh and original. A fun swipe at the mainstream, light-hearted, after all it will only make you depressed or angry if not that. Check out the track below, and look out for Roadidendren’s new album soon . . .
