Scorcher is back for 2017 with a brand new single ‘Paranoid’ produced by Donae’O who also lays down some familiar ad-libs on the track. Having premiered on BBC Radio 1Xtra with DJ Target as his Targo Embargo, the audio for this absolute banger has been released for purchase via iTunes and all other major digital retailers.
Scorcher left 2016 on a high, after dropping ’99 Riddim’ assisted by The Movement emcee’s Ghetts and Mercston, he ended the year by unleashing ‘Last Night In Edmonton’ in quick succession over Christmas time. Scorcher tore it down on #SiansStudio on BBC Radio 1Xtra, which caused a storm on Twitter due to the deep lyrics and reload bars, a testament to Scorcher’s prowess on the mic and as an all-round emcee. Scorcher aka Scorcher Skywalker has already stormed in 2017 as he means to go on, reaching 7 million viewers with an appearance on BBC’s Match of the Day, dropping an exclusive freestyle, which was later released online and gained 420,000 views in 24 hours. And as if that wasn’t enough, he hit Sky 1’s ‘What’s Up Show’ to discuss his plans for the year ahead as he moves ‘Sky’wards, the only way he know how!
Donae’O lends his production skills to the track, with a thudding beat, resounding bass line and dark melody, the latter giving the song an air of impending danger, a sinister vibe nonetheless. The tone is set by Scorcher on this monster track like it’s a soundtrack to a movie, which Scorcher will be no stranger to following his lead role as Hoodz in hit independent film The Intent, released last year. Scorcher proves why he is one the elite emcee’s in the scene as he commandeers the beat with varying flows and his lyrics are flawless as he warns of the untrustworthy heads that he has no other choice but to move like he is paranoid around.
