North West London Hip Hop Writer, Artist and Lyricist Tevyn J recently released a new EP “Misunderstood” for free download via his soundcloud. Kicking off the four track project is the title track ‘Misunderstood’ featuring Singer Ruchelle Scott and fellow Rappers Veekz and Razor. Over a thumping Hip Hop beat, as Tevyn J himself rhyming about the dreams he is chasing, yet revealing with fantastic metaphors that he can’t keep up. Veekz and Razor both have differing styles again, with Veekz delivery being more hard-edged as he emphasizes the need to to escape the dark place he is in, whilst Razor drops a mix of bars from braggadocio lyrics to talking about his influences, revealing his restriction to painting pictures of the pain in his life. Ruchelle Scott provides a soulful voice on the chorus, with fabulous backing adlibs too that are harmonious. ‘Change’ featuring KayO Ken, and produced by S-X, is another soulfully influenced Hip Hop track. Tevyn takes to the dark and twisting, slamming rap beat, dropping lyrics that urge us to not be afraid of change, taking each day as it comes. Tevyn J gives you his own remix of The Game’s 100, originally featuring Drake, as he and Razor take to the Johnny Juliano-produced soulful Trap beat. With hunger in their delivery, the two lyricists drop rhymes that illustrate their loss of hope at times of pushing their music, feeling underrated at times. On the flip side, they express their devotion and passion to the music they create. The final track is a Thomas Mellor and Swifta Beater produced track entitled ‘Deity’ featuring Maxie. This is a completely different sound to the tunes before as Tevyn jumps on a grimy beat, dropping bars about the work load he has upon himself, from personal issues to juggling everyday life with a music career. Maxie drops melodious singing vocals on the chorus,
Tevyn J returns with an incredible new EP here, the fours tracks portraying the struggles that he as a creative, as well as his more personal life in general. Tevyn J’s lyricism displays his wordplay ability and he showcases smooth flows over smooth flowing, soulful Hip Hop production.
