”An amalgamation of sounds, influences and voices” is what you get with the debut release, ‘Sweden’, from UK collective Vibbar, consisting of Poet, Skribz, Jordy and Confect, released via MistaJam’s Speakerbox label. A ”hyper-stylish, creative collective”, the video sees them go wild and turn up, with class of course, in a stately home, playing snooker in a grand house that includes statues of knights and a grand piano.

The track features melodic production that fades in and out, from the hazy lows of the beat to the rhythmic highs, the four lyricists showcasing their catchy bars and flows on an ”amped up bass and crystal clear production”. With ”boundless charisma which is immersed with creative flair”, Vibbar transcends the music scene, the ”cutting edge of rap”, and extends in to the fashion, as you can see from the visuals.

“Originally the song was a sample by a garage artist /Dj from back in the day called Lonyo. We sampled his hit ‘Summer of love’ and originally used that title, to pay homage.

We wanted to keep the energy of our original take on the song so made a new beat with a similar vibe. We then decided to call the song ‘Sweden’, after the country which is the inspiration behind the whole collective, hence the name Vibbar (Vibe in Swedish)” – VIBBAR

A collective that consists of individuals you may already recognise, the collective has swiftly become distinctive, even maybe a super-group. Each member has their own talents and profiles, covering a vast selection of creative fields. The diversity and talent, fused together, is what makes them such an ”uber collective”.

Skits, Skribz and Jordy provide lyricism via rap, whilst a host of featured singers (inc Joel Baker and Shola Ama) add to the bubbling pot of talents, sounds and style, all of which is brought together by the production team TheConfect as they take the helm for the music. In-house photographers and videographers are added to the diverse mix, topped off with the art director Yinkasays, bringing visual creativity to the centrefold whilst the infamous Poet is a linchpin of the group that adds his prestigious style and flair – as well as bringing his incredibly hard earned profile from presenting on Copa 90 – the global YouTube football phenomenon.

Vibbar’s uncomplicated love for what they do and their changeable talents allow them to morph in to any role required for them to continue their own evolution as a collective. To date they have DJ’d and collaborated with numerous brands and hosted guest appearances on their tracks from Big Narstie, Wiley and JME, amongst others, plus they host their own weekly show every Monday from 5pm on Radar Radio. With the release of ‘Sweden’, they are on the brink of even more new conquests.
