Review – PredzUK – #R.U.Krayzee!?

PredzUK Review Chart

Death Kiss Media Comments:

R.U.Krayzee!? Versatile Edition” is the newest mixtape by PredzUK, and he is trying to get this trending all around the country, and staright from the first track he puts his stamp on it with his new comical catchphrase, which is sure to get people copying it, a really good lil’ catchphrase that will stick in people’s minds the more they hear it, and will associate Predz with that, and as far as I know no-one else has used that catchphrase yet, so a good concept for this mixtape, carrying on from the last mixtape “R U Krayzee Volume 1”. Good marketing by Predz as far as making mark with his sound.

The cover is a good design and pretty fly and vibrant, having been created by Ch33ki Media (ch33kimedia.com). The cover stands out, and so does Predz, who is seen standing on the front cover, getting his face out there, so you better recognise and know the man behind the music.

Predz chooses some slow Hip Hop beats, most noticeably Harry Fraud’s “Going In” instrumental, where he straight away jumps on it, going in hard with hard lyricism and metaphors, a difference to the content that some people have sprayed on this beat. He pronounces his words clearly, which makes for a good listening because there is more emphasis on his lyrics, and the bars make an impact and sink in. He is wicked with the flow though, just swings and goes with flow of the beat in a good way.

There is some original production on here, which is great to hear fresh music all the time, Rd Millz produces a good few of the tracks, a couple of my favourites being “Danger”, a hard-hitting production, with Predz bringing a slight dancehall/ragga flava to it, which also leads in to the same sort of style “Bad Boy Style” featuring Tinez and Shabba D and produced by Naughty Boy. Another hard beat I like is “A Celebration” produced by Mennie, not including many vocals from Predz but is a banging, dirty beat nonetheless with or without a verse.

A favorite track of mine and all round superb song on the “R.U.Krayzee!?” mixtape is “Gotta Make It” featuring Princess and produced by G.I. Predz kicks some bars reflecting on his music career, and as the title suggests, he has gotta make it some how. The tracks includes a nice sampled voice, and Princess lays down her beautiful, smooth singing voice for the hook. This track showcases Predz songcraft and ability for song writing best of all, and simply for it being a great tune.

SHOWING POTENTIAL

• SUPER DUPER STAR – Predz UK has been in the game for some time now, and judging by this mixtape he is ready as any other artist to make the jump to the next level. He not only shows potential, but a little more and then some, with his concepts for some of the songs, and his whole style is fresh and fly. He also has that trademark “R U Krayzee” catchphrase that will go down well with people who follow trends.

STAND OUT TRACKS:

Going In” – This needs a mention, Predz has a video for this so he obviously felt this was one of the bangers on the track. Well of course it is, and well known beat as well by Harry Fraud. Predz comes with hard-hitting lyrics, and his originality shines through on the opening track. His lyrics are fresh, and its good to see that he is one of the few UK Hip Hop artists that aren’t on this Trap ish. Predz is about the meaning of his lyrics, wit, smartness and metaphors, making his wordplay deadly, on this track more than anything.

Gotta Make It” – As I mentioned before, this is a top notch song, professional sounding, a well written and crafted song, Predz puts his thoughs on track in his lyrics here, and Princess is a great feature on the hook.

Bad Boy Style” – Bad Boy Style features Tinez and Shabba D and all three artists. Come to think of it Predz style on this reminds me of Karl Hinds. The vibe of this song to me feels like a dancehall/garage kind of vibe. They all express great, rapid flow on this, a homage to the old school and original ravers.

Can’t Live Without You” – A different vibe on this one. A dance vibe to be exact. Predz sings his way through this number, even when rapping he is sort of singing, it’s a great sound, a nice and unique blend, this is something that he could win over mainstream fans with.
