Midlands Hip Hop artist Soulkeeper links up with visualists 33TV for a music video for a brand new track called “One Last Wish”. Soulkeeper spits over a catchy, rhythmic West-Coast style Hip Hop production, rhyming about his dreams and wishes in life, asking you what you would wish for if you had one last. In the hook, Soulkeeper mentions the materialistic things that most of us wish for, cars, jewels, flash cars and hot girls, but in his lyricism, Soulkeeper spits about more deep, meaningful wants in his messed up life, showing a more humane side to him, as he himself wishes for a solution to his pain, feeling for other’s people’s poverty as well as his own. Soulkeepr displays himself as a conscious lyricist, rhyming about inequality, depression, and making up his own mind and being aware of how the society shapes his own living situation. Soulkeeper has an almost American swag about his delivery, but flows effortlessly over the instrumental which also has break in which it takes on a Blues/Jazz twist. Thumbs up on the hook though, fabulously written, check out the great lyricism from Soulkeepr, and peep the visuals which show gritty locations, colour at a minimum which make the surroundings look even more dim and ghetto. The effects are cool too, and the editing and cuts are professional. Let us know your opinions . . .
