Rapman | 2014 Wrap Up [Music Video]: SBTV

Rapman 2

UK Hip Hop lyricist Rapman linked up with SBTV, to release new visuals for a track called ‘2014 Wrap Up’, which reviews all of the major events of the past year, as well as Rapman expressing his own thoughts on them. Spurred on by ushering in the new year, Rapman rhymes about such events as the happy times from Germany winning the world cup but emphasizing the disappointment with England, the likes of Stormzy and Skepta holding it up for the UK Grime scene, with MOBOS and movements. Rapman also drops deep lyricism, and gives his own heart-felt opinions on government conspiracies, such as the Malaysian Airways plane going missing from the air (hmmm?), the unlawful killing and controversial ruling in the Mark Duggan case, and he speaks on his disgust at the likes of Jimmy Saville and Rolf Harris. Rapman brings some humor to the track with his own thoughts on mind boggling showbiz matters including Kim Kardashian and Bobby Schmurda, but he also reminds us of the controversial killings of black men in America, the Ebola outbreak, and ALS. This is Rapman’s report on the year, but unlike the media and news, he ends on a positive, mentioning the positive moves in the UK Rap scene, including Blade Brown charting with a hood album, Nines gaining 1 million views in a month for a video, and Charlie Sloth getting signed to MMG. This track will bring sadness but will also bring laughter in some parts, but overall, Rapman once again showcases great lyricism and flow and delivery, with a powerful track with a strong message. Check out the equally powerful visuals which complement the lyrical content, and tell us what you think in the comments section below . . .
