RAPTOR VS VERB T | WAW Rap Clash
Words Are Weapons bought you this main event Rap clash recently in Manchester, between UK Hip Hop lyricists Raptor, making his debut, and established rapper Verb T. Raptor took home advantage, as he went in over a banging Hip Hop instrumental, tearing in to Verb T with breath-taking flow and delivery, dropping some deadly bars aimed at Verb T, but Verb T really got the battle going by dissing Raptor and mocking his name, stating he isn’t vicious at all, and whilst praising Raptor for turning his life around, he addresses his stupidity at threatening people online. Verb T impresses me as well as he throws in some good punchlines, his delivery all more clearer than Raptor’s, although the sound quality was a factor too. In round 2, Raptor goes for some potency, mentioning that in his opinion perhaps, Verb T is a 20 year vet in the same position, and with ferociousness and venom in his delivery, he goes on to drop headtopping bars, and urging Verb T to give up or get carried off. Verb T continues to display superior wordplay, as he lays bit all out there, addressing his disappointment at Raptors delivery and lyricism, really going in with the flow let alone his pars to Raptor. The last beat, Ghostface Killah’s ‘Mighty Healthy’ instrumental, sees Raptor improve with the clarity, and actually delivering some good lyrics, and Verb T rounds off the clash, as he rhymes about Raptor being beaten by Lady Shocker and even his misses, and stating that Raptor looks like a snake, someone who would step over people to get to his own goals. In my opinion Raptor gets schooled by Verb T who may feel like he was disrespected, but he nevertheless left the stage with nothing but dust behind him, swiftly beating Raptor.
