Aggressive, melodic, conscious and greezy at the same damn time! That sums up the Nuu release by South London Rapper Ben Ridley, the track is called ‘Recky’, produced by fellow TNGR member Cyrus, and once again another instalment in the #CanYouSeeIt series. Ben jumps on a rhythmic melody and booming bass, the vibe overall dark, as he expresses his persistence and non-stop work rate with such lines as ‘We got plans we overwork to make them work so we ain’t workers’, delivering tongue in cheek bars like suggesting that he thinks that female rapper Ms Banks is sexy, replying to J Hus’ ‘you can’t eat pum pum and try draw my zoot’, and laying down some witty similes based around moves on females, like when he states he’d put a girl’s name in his phone as Cedes, likening her ‘nani’ to a Benz. Whilst Ben also explores racial issues in the black community which is on a more serious note, Ben delivers dark humour in my opinion, and he possesses a raspy delivery, and his flow fits like a glove over the hard hitting beat.
