Noisey and Pepsi Max – JME 48 Hour Mixtape

In a new series bought to you by Noisey and Pepsi Max, Grime MC and Boy Better Know artist JME can be seen in a short documentary as a part of a three parter, putting together and creating a mixtape in 48 hours. Over two days, JME flies around London, linking up with his friend Shakka to lay down vocals at his home studio. Displaying his versatility as a musician he visits a world music instrument shop, and also meets up with well-known London presenter and budding artist himself, Poet, for some bars. You can either watch the results or listen below, or both, but check out the full mixtape over at Noisey.com, which features some all-rounded quality music from JME, with fabulous singing vocals on ‘Mirror on a Plane’, featuring Shakka, with introspective lyrics from JME at times when he needs time off from his hectic schedule. ‘War On The Streets’ or W.O.T.S is a self-absorbed track from the view point of those that want to go it with Jamie. JME delivers rapid bars on a thrashing beat for ‘All Black Everything’ or A.B.E, and goes back to back with Poet on ‘Bull In A China Shop’, full of confidence which radiates in their lyricism. Amongst other things are some skits and instrumentals, as this mixtape showcases the high standards that JME can reach even in such a short space of time. Check out the visuals which give a great insight in to the making of the mixtape, and leave us your feedback in the comments section . . .
