Hackney and Volyume Up Rapper Bamboss finally released his long awaited EP ‘Rose Of Bamdiggy’ earlier this month, as the #NewEast mc delivers four bangers featuring some of East London’s hottest talent around. ‘Wannabe’ which has just had a video unveiled is a bubbling hip hip production, on which Bamboss rides the trembling bass with lyricism that drives the listener to look at themselves and question if they are where they want to be, whether you are on a path towards negativity, or if you desire to moves towards positivity. Bamboss employs animated delivery for this track which is just one of the songs that displays his excellent song writing skills and song craft.
As you may or may not know, all of these tracks featured have music videos so in effect, are all singles. Bamboss teams up with Waltham Stow’s Big Tobz for the banger #NotEveryDay as the two rhyme about certain people that are stuck on an ’06 hype as Big Tobz states, as they emphasize that they move and change with the times, where as many stay on the same wave, most times a negative vibe. Big Tobz particularly goes in with rapid flow and slick wordplay.
‘Grown Man Shxt’ features Dubz D from Leyton, and depicts the pair’s progression from boys to men, changing up their mentality and finding independence, becoming business minded and stopping a facade. There is once again a strong, catchy hook, and the flows are on point. The last track is called ‘I Don’t Know’ and features Frank Ekwa as well as Kadiata formerly Clixx, with background vocals from Michelle Andrade aka Sash Ellis. The lyrics convey the trio of rappers’ lack of choices when reality becomes too much, becoming rebels against their circumstances and turning towards less than kosher lifestyles to make ends meet. A big chorus for this with Sash Ellis’ background vocals and the low down singing vocals from Bamboss on the hook blending terrifically. The differences between the hard edged delivery and rapid flows displayed by Frank Ekwa and Kadiata a refreshing and compelling.
