Producer Flash Grizzle presents his new instrumental E.P ‘Lord Of The Beats’, via Grizzaleng Records, available online for digital download and physical CD. All four grime productions are dark in tone, and include Flash G’s own sampling of the Dr Who theme via ‘Grime Vet AKA Dr Who’, and features a thumping beat, deep bass, and whirring, sci-fi style synthesizers. ‘Hide N Kill’, a remix of Meridian Dan’s track of the same name, also produced by Flash G, features a growling bassline, tingling eerie instruments, and is ambient and spacious in sound. ‘Violate’ is another pounding beat, also eerie and possesses a mysterious vibe, as well as high-pitched, quivering background vocals, and overall puts me in mind of DJ Wonder’s Call My Name. The final instrumental is ‘War Ran AKA Myrikal Theme’, on which Flash G employs many snares and hi-hats for this beat which sounds every bit like loading up artillery for war, with another menacing beat, dark chords and strings that are rather intense.
