So Large – 500 Grams E.P

East London Rapper and MC So Large links up with GRM Daily once again for the release of his latest E.P ‘500 Grams’. So Large links up with Ghetts on the opening track ‘E300 Buddah’, up-tempo drum and bass vibes on which the pair deliver lyrics conveying their dangerous side. Ghetts’ flow is skippy on the beat with So Large going at it ham, rhyming in slang at times. ‘My Cousins’ sees So Large switch to heavy hitting Grime beat, emphasizing strong family ties, warning that he’ll chase anyone down with cousins, minus a gang. So Large takes to a murky grime-come-trap bass-laden beat on ‘Lift’ delivering cold bars stressing that he unlike many lives that life, doing big tings either in music or on road. ‘Business Men’ is a Garage-Grime track featuring Srufizzer and Mercston, as all mc’s deliver entertaining flows on the skippy beat, with a chorus that firmly states that they only associate with business-minded people. ‘Bullocks’, well the name says it all. So Large jumps on the track with his brash style and rowdy bars, quickly firing down the chat that many supposed road man talk. So Large’s delivery is ferocious as he spits on the production that samples Wiley’s ‘Wot Do You Call It’. The final track on the E.P features Jammin and Teddy Bruckshot as the trio deliver a banger, shelling a bass-heavy grime beat. Teddy Bruckshot delivers his unique vocals in Jamaican patois, as Jammin and So Large barking back at and putting an end to mc’s that step to them.
So Large, a former member of the Mucky Wolfpack, gathers production for the ‘500 Grams’ E.P that revives the cross between Garage and Grime from the early years of Grime, but with a modernized sound of Trap and Bass. So Large also displays an aggressive style that works well with his hard-edged lyricism that depicts road life.
