London Rapper IYKZ, formerly Ikes, is back with a brand new single ‘Kilo’ featuring production from BZGD and mixing from Superdertie (A$AP Rocky, Mac Miller, Lily Allen). This trap banger is backed by a high-powered, bass-thumping trap beat from BZGD, and IYKZ delivers ferociously-delivered rap bars, displaying half time flows and alternating styles as he stops and starts, also showcasing his singing abilities on the chorus. As IYKZ explains about the single:

“’Kilo’ for me is the ultimate underdog anthem. It represents winning when the odds are stacked against you and striving for the top but never forgetting where you came from. I wanted to use the aggressive and gritty energy of the track’s production to deliver a positive message that I think listeners will be able to relate to.”

As an independent, unsigned rapper and artist, IYKZ has seen a great deal of success in the last few years. In 2010, he received rave reviews for his SB.TV Warm Up Session. A clip of his performance was later chosen by SB.TV founder and entrepreneur Jamal Edwards MBE to feature in their Google Chrome advertising campaign, which aired on TV in 2012. More recently, IYKZ last single ‘Clarity’ featuring British songstress Hayley Cassidy, under the Ikes moniker, was playlisted as a BBC Introducing track, the third time in his career. The single was also supported by renowned UK Radio 1/1Xtra DJ’s Charlie Sloth and DJ Target. ‘Kilo’ is one of many new singles and videos to come from IYKZ in the upcoming months, so keep watch and an ear out for this future UK Urban Music star.
