Indian-born UK Pop Singer/Songwriter and Producer Rivita, from New Delhi originally, confirmed some exciting news this past week, regarding the music video for her latest single ‘Listen’!
The music video for the song was recently nominated by the World Music and Independent Film Festival 2017 for the “Best Music Video” category. The music video has also been selected by Canadian Diversity Film Festival, TMC London Film Festival and Indian Music Video Awards!
The song itself explores the frequent attacks around the world, with Rivita’s strong message peace exemplified by one line; “Put down your guns, aim higher”. The production is electronic, with Rivita’s harmonious, yet haunting vocals showcasing her signature Eastern sound.
The video is a masterpiece combining symbolic imagery, juxtaposing faces of people from all over the world with symbolic shots of violence, shattering objects and blazing fires for instance. This is a representation of peace and unity, and the attacks that take place the world over. The music video is directed and edited by Rivita herself, and stars The Mahamaya Group of Fusion Dance, with the Dance concept by Ritika Dhar.
It is a triumph for Rivita to get her art noticed by her country of origin, but even more ground-breaking to be nominated for festivals in UK, Canada, showcasing her own cultured art of music and visuals to the world over.
