Following the premiere of his new single live to clubbers at the iconic Fabric nightclub in London, Rude Kid gives us the audio to ‘Banger After Banger’ featuring long-term collaborator Ghetts. Rude Kid dropped the banger as part of his highly energetic set in front of a packed house, where Ghetts came out to what was already an electric vibe, to spit live for the crowd and for the unveiling of the track, just days before flying out to Texas for the SXSW takeover.
Aptly named, this duo have worked together on some of the Grime scene’s hottest bangers to date (‘One Take’ and ‘Don’t Phone Me’), and they are back in business again for this eclectic grime and electronic infused smasher. The high-octane grime production from Rude Kid mashes samples of Dizzee Rascal’s ‘I Luv U’, alongside Ghetts’ references to the East London emcee, and throwbacks to the rave scene with vibes similar to that of DJ Slipmatt and Prodigy. There are also flashback to ‘One Take’ and ‘Don’t Phone Me’ that the two previously worked on as Rude Kid handles the fire production. Ghetts unleashes ferocious flows and delivery on the track, his persona ever-present with heavyweight punchlines and crazy ad-libs.
This is sure to go down as one of the timeless grime bangers not just of the year, and after the radio premiere by MistaJam on BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra where he played not once but twice, this will go down as a future grime classic. Rude Kid will also be taking Grime music global as he takes to one of the biggest stages of music, SXSW in Texas, where the crowd will be soaking up the energy and the grime experience. Rude Kid will play twice, one time alongside Ghetts where ‘Banger After Banger’ will make it’s U.S debut!
