UK Premiere – Starkey – Nucleus VIP
In late 2012, Starkey released a free EP called Nucleus to much fanfare and heavy tastemaker response. The title track was an absolute stormer and a favorite in Starkey’s live sets worldwide. An updated 2013 VIP was begging to happen, and now we have this grimey anthem ready to go tuff on the dancefloor or bumpin’ out of your headphones!
This is the UK premiere of producer Starkey’s next single “Nucleus VIP”. It’s a thunderous streetbass club hitter from the genre’s co-creator, that has only been heard live on Starkey’s international tour. This newest single is a mix of Dubstep, Grime and features a heavy bass. Starkey also comes with two different sounds in the main parts of the track, showing that he is diverse and full of unique ideas for brand new thumping sounds. This is definitely a tune for the ravers, and turn your speakers up high and let the bass rip. A great production by Starkey yet again, a hard-hitting beat that will be available for you all to pick a copy from Monday 27th May on Slit Jockey Records.
The unstoppable Philadelphia artist is fresh off the Inter-Mission EP on Slit Jockey sister label, Seclusiasis, and his catalog of forward thinking bass music stands for itself. Releases on Ninja Tune, Planet Mu, Civil Music, Rwina, countless remixes for the likes of Gorilla Zoe, Armand Van Helden, Tinie Tempah, Foals and more. Starkey is blessed with musical arrangement skill’s that would leave most composers green faced with envy. This combined with his high production ethic makes him a formidable force not only in the underground but also as a super producer of the future. Starkey is yet another example of what the streets of Philly can create, his sound hits hard and is littered with bass and colourful audio frequencies. If you like grime, dubstep, hip hop nd all things “street bass” then Starkey’s hard edged spaced-out crunk is the sound for you.
