Mayday, the ‘Forever Nomad’ emcee hailing from Birmingham does it again with ‘Like Juve (Juventus)’, following up the ‘RAINWORLDKING’ Ep that was released earlier this year. This time around he has traveled to Italy for inspiration to his music. Produced by Doncaster’s Mistakay, the hybrid Grime-come-Trap production has that summer flair, with up-tempo percussion, rhythmic steel pans and a rolling bassline blending for this catchy grime banger. The chorus is catchy and Mayday provides some striking punchlines and witty bars, many referencing the Italian champions of Serie A and several players (Dybala, Barzagli, Mandžukić, Cuadrado), likening himself and his team to the Old Lady, taking charge, taking shots at inferior competition in this game of life and music, one in which he leads his squad like a captain. An infectious grime riddim from Mayday, who displays energetic and unorthodox flows and delivery respectively, with such stunning rhyming skills and finesse.
