UK Hip Hop duo’s The New Blxck’s latest music video with Link Up TV is for a track called “Roofless”. Presented by The Vision, the Hip Hop production cool, jazzy, piano-led beat features both emcee’s rhyming excellent lyricism, once again, this track deals with the struggle in which they face in their hometown of London, lyrics depicting the similarities of which they share with their peers without realising it, and even though they constantly push to improve their lives, they come from the same background, but are going about making a difference in their lives in different ways, putting their positive energy in to creating music. The latter part of the track sees them spitting over a boom-bap style beat, paying homage to the likes of Biggie, giving those street thugs something to bump along to, running up in a BMW to grab the loot, and reminding us they aren’t living comfortably, only at rest when they are driving in a plush whip. This track for me is The New Blxck trying to relate to those whom they share the same issues, but bringing a positive message at the same time, showing them the more positive approach to getting by.
