UK Hip Hop artist Durrty Goodz recently released his brand new mixtape, the follow up to his last, “Young Legend 2”. Featuring 12 solid tracks, from the funk-driven opening track “To The Bone” to “Step Out” featuring Kulture Kartel, a chilled out Hip Hop production with a laid-back hook in which Goodz laces it in a reggae-influenced style, “Do It The Best”, Durrty Goodz’ remix of Aaliyah’s RnB track “Are You Feeling Me”, and even second to last track “Free Your Mind”, an up-tempo Funk cut in the same fashion as another legend James Brown, Durrty Goodz lyricism is scattered with sense and conscious content, using the past and his own experiences to open the listeners mind, change their line of thought, Goodz talks to the youth and anyone for that matter in which they can relate, sometimes reporting on not so wonderful circumstances of a culture in which he grew up in, here is someone who knows what he is rhyming about, and channeling that in to positive Hip Hop music, made diverse from influences such as reggae, soul and jazz, making him in my opinion a unsung legend in the UK who needs more recognition.
