Xidus Pain presents The Ultimate Warrior Mixtape

Rhyme Pad Records presents a brand new mixtape from Hip Hop lyricist Xidus Pain, entitled “The Ultimate Warrior Mixtape”, and starts off with an intro featuring snippets from the WWF/E promo cuts withWarrior who recently passed way, so here you have a mixtape dedicated in part to one presumably one of Xidus Pain’s idol’s growing up. On the mixtape, Xidus takes on the role of a warrior himself, a fighter from the streets, and with some raw production from KnoWun, Ducka, Chris IPOP, Barry Blaq and DJ Kriptonite. The title track features Xidus warming up, spitting excellent lyrics, delivering furious flows, dropping some great similes, attacking the mic with similes and metaphors, showcasing himself as a larger than life lyricist.

Xidus Painting” is raw, rugged, Wu-Tang style production by KnoWun, Xidus Pain spitting sick bars, with fantastic delivery, kicking smooth flows, comfortable and at ease on the mic, lyricism can only be described as bombs on the track.

You have some tracks like “Rise” and “In This World”, two tracks back to back which Xidus rhymes about life, the struggles in life, getting by with what he has, from having to grind for a wage, fighting for his family, staying strong through it all. In the latter track, asks why there is no peace, from disaster, unjustified imprisonment, politics, religion and the media, airing his opinions, and in the end, we are being controlled, lied to, and kept down, and as Xidus states, the poorer get poorer in this rich man’s world.

Another track which proves Xidus’ superb song-writing is “Russian Lullaby” produced by Chris IPOP. Based on one woman, going through pain and torture, her brother dying, caught in war that she is fighting through, another character is man who is walked over all the time, being corrupted by devilish ways, being dragged in to a dangerous life, whilst his sister continues to go through the pain of witnessing his destruction. The last verse speaks of a man fighting for life, destined to die, whilst his sister is looking out for him and the whole family. The whole song could be perceived as a metaphor, all three verses in my opinion intertwined, and in the end, the sister is mother nature with the father being God, A deep track with an enchanting presumably sampled vocal woven in the production.

In the latter stages of the mixtape, Xidus Pain starts to become one with his self, a bit of a leader, becoming more biblical with his lyrical scriptures, in “True Say”, he seems to be trying to get across the fact that he stands for something, and will be a martyr and die for his beliefs. From staying well away from demons that will corrupt his mind, rhyming about brainwashing, and control from the higher forces like the government, Xidus spits wise lyrics, choosing to use his own mind, staying on his mission.

Glad It’s Tight” features fellow Hip Hop artist Moses as they rhyme about the slums where they came from and dropping bars over the fire production by Barry Blaq, serving to drive people to get up and do something, build a movement, or an empire, achieve your dreams. Both attack the beat with precision flow.

There is a lot more to this mixtape than these few tracks, which are favourites of mine. Xidus spits lyrical scriptures, each track taking on a different story, whether it is from his own experiences or not, Xidus Pain manages to put his own emotions and pain in to songs, and comes across as a superb, accomplished lyricist with tales to tell, speaking for the minority that think for themselves, breaking out of the government shackles and fighting through life’s obstacles to build his own movment. That is my summary of the mixtape, and Xidus Pain does definitely seem like a warrior, and as for his skill and style, he puts me in me in mind of the likes Wu-Tang with production comparable to Rza’s, the production is eclectic, soulful, jazzy, and raw and rugged Hip Hop.
