INNUENDO | Don’t Flop Drops
One of the latest Don’t Flop Drops Freestyle sessions was with UK Rap Battle artist Innuendo. The Liverpool-based lyricist performs the track ‘An Open Book’ taken from his forthcoming album ‘Sad Clown’, rhyming over a Blues/Jazz style Hip Hop instrumental, dropping deep, meaningful bars in a story telling form, reminiscing on his past foolishness and certain things that he regrets, Innuendo’s lyrics at one point seem self-hating from him, whilst he drops bars about having changed himself, speaking on those things such as music that have helped him to turn in the right direction. Innuendo also excellently rhymes about his past, from dealing with racism from both races, problems with the law, trying to drop words of advice for those stuck in the similar life, expressing that anything he spits is the truth. Innuendo delivers a top-notch live Hip Hop freestyle, reminding us that we can change, flowing seamlessly on the beat, delivering his bars with the pain and sadness that the lyrical content demands.
