Big Narstie has just released a fresh new track ‘They Don’t Know’ featuring Xaviour, taken from his forthcoming album due for release this summer. Definitely showcasing a softer side to Big Narstie than some of his previous tracks, but Big Narstie is no stranger to grime tracks with a story, just remember his legendary remix of Coldplay’s Clockwork. Grime’s “unofficial king of comedy”, the song’s lyrics are on a more serious note, Narstie delivers deep, emotive rhymes on melancholy, yet thudding trap/grime beat, exploring the life story behind the man. Speaking from the heart, Big Narstie’s lyrics are poignant, moving and relatable, further enhancing his image as a humble guy who can either make you laugh or make you cry. Xaviour is impeccable with emotive and soulful vocals on the chorus.
Big Narstie has come on leaps and bounds since last year. The emcee has took the scene by storm with Base Defence League (BDL), releasing his own Base Invaders app and the single ‘BDL Skank’. As well as his own solo ventures, one of the highlights of 2016 was the smash single alongside Craig David, ‘When The Bassline Drops’, which was a Top 10 record and later went on to be certified gold. A veteran in the scene, Big Narstie also performed at a number of worlds most famed festivals including Ibiza Rocks, Wireless, Reading & Leeds and even made an appearance on the Jonathan Ross Show. Now comes the time for Big Narstie capitalise on his studio labour and to release his much anticipated album which should have everything you want, from hype grime to storytelling R&G, not to mention some exciting and unexpected collaborations.
