The Avengers assemble for what is a monumental link up between Blay Vision, Buggsy, Jammz and Mayhem NODB. AKA The Avengers, this super collective of emcee’s, haling from North London (Blay Vision), East London (Jammz), Bristol (Buggsy) and Birmingham (Mayhem NODB), deliver an project that is one for the Grime ages!

The foursome join forces for this once in a lifetime link up, to give all Grime fans a charged-up 13-track LP, that embodies the varied sounds of each artist, yet they combine to produce straight greeze, energy-fueled Grime bangers, all produced by Gesher, Buggsy, Jammz, Mayhem NODB and Blay Vision. Led by tracks like ‘Avengers Link Up’, ‘Sparring’, a personal favourite, dutty bassline-infused riddim, and the ‘FM Allstar Riddim’, a Grime refix of French Montana’s Shot Caller, produced by Jammz and JackDat, all gift us with elite, wheel-up worthy barring, as well as across the project as a whole. The four emcee’s pen game, punchlines, quick-fire flows and the gritty essence of the Grime sound are at the forefront of this LP. ‘The Avengers’ LP is also a nod to the genre’s signature grit and fiery energy, with a nostalgic vibe, but with a modern twist.

Certain tracks go deeper with the lyricism and topics, such as ‘Rah’, a ponderous, thought-provoking song about the state of living, with the four delving into their own experiences. This is one to sit back and bill up to, easing the stress. ‘Company’ has R&B undertones, owing to the background vocals, and explores a kind of of love with a girl, who just wants to chill with you, during the highs and lows of your day. ‘Paranoia’ is a solo track from Buggsy, who utilizes his fast-paced, tongue-twisting flows, displaying highly-skilled lyricism, and comes before ‘Pride’, a smooth, chilled Grime song with Latin undertones, which explores the battle they have within themselves, in situations where they want to keep face but at the same time just keep their cool. ‘Can’t Complain’ reminds us that no matter how hard life can get, you need to keep going, find yourself when you are lost, and be thankful you are still here. To be the boss, you have to pay the cost!

‘The Avengers’ LP is accompanied by some trippy visuals for stand-out single, ‘Megazord’, taking you on journey from Birmingham to Bristol to London, with each emcee assembling to deliver hard-hitting bars on a heavyweight, energy-filled production by Gesher. Speaking on the project, The Avengers commented, “The album was born off the back of their well-received Grime collaboration on FM Allstars Riddim (March 2020). After the reception from fans, we decided to push forward with a whole project, which also acts as Birmingham’s Mayhem NODB last ever project as an MC as he steps away as an artist and into an industry role”.
