Grime producer Cassar released a brand new EP via bandcamp recently, featuring four solid instrumentals, all falling in to the Grime or Trap genre. Off The Leash is is Trap/Grime banger at 140bpm, featuring a dutty bassline with tingling keys playing in the background, taking elements of Grime such as lively kicks, snares and hi-hats for this haunting, eerie instrumental. The remaining three beats are all Grime, Shots Fired being an aggressive, hard hitting beat which has the feeling that it’s on the attack. Illusion is a more slow paced Grime instrumental, more atmospheric and spacey, where as Dark Knight takes it to the max,with a production of epic proportions, fit for a dark motion picture, the break taking rapid beat up a notch. All tracks on the EP are hard hitting, with hard kicks, which Cassar may be a fan of, whilst it remains for the melody and the bass, which Cassar gets spot on, Illusion being my least favourite.
