North West LDN rapper/songwriter Casscade is back following his last release ‘Dance For Me’ with ‘Zoning’, an introspective yet melodic banger, produced by Netherlands producer Lucky Keys, who has worked with the likes of DMX and Nas.

‘Zoning’ is an uncompromising song with moody undertones, juxtaposed with a vibe that almost feels triumphant. Casscade proves why he is in a different lane to the competition, utilizing his various skills as a singer and rapper, as he takes to the calming yet hard-hitting trapesque instrumental, lamenting over topics such as the impact of social media, touched on in his opening line, and how tough it was coming from the environment he was raised in, delving in to how it’s affected him. Casscade is also able to display his competence as a wordsmith, with lines like “Take a leaf from where all the problems seems to stem”, one of many clever quotable lines. Casscade also delivers an amazingly sung chorus that compliments the sentimental vibe of the track. ‘Zoning’ really zones in on Casscade’s open, honest and sincere reflection, from Casscade’s perspective, of his journey so far from past to present.

Explaining the story of the track Casscade explains: “Zoning is just you sitting with your thoughts. Introspectively thinking about your life and struggles, the ones you see on a day to day basis and the struggles you might even catch on the internet. Sometimes the deep thought of things someone has been through can trigger trauma of the past so they result to alcohol or other things but at the end of it all, if you look hard enough and are willing to be the change, you’ll always find your way”.

‘Zoning’ follows Casscade’s previous single ‘Dance For Me’, which premiered via Wonderland Magazine, and saw Casscade collab with German producer OUHBOY (whose credits include; Tyga, Luciano, D Block Europe). Other highlights of his tracks include ‘Hurry Up & Buy’ which features Gold-selling German artist Joshi Mizu, that was added to various official Spotify and Amazon Music playlists, and garnered media support from the likes of Backspin Mag, SBTV and Noctis Mag. Other tastemaker support for Casscade has come from DJ Charlie Sloth and 4x Grammy winning producer Anthony Kilhoffer, who played ‘Finesse’ on his Instagram live with DJ Semtex, which led to ‘Finesse’ being featured on Semtex’s ‘5 Tracks You Need To Know’ show on Captial Xtra.
