Manchester’s Flexplicit takes on London’s IM at Don’t Flop’s recent “Set The Standard 9” event in a closely contested, fierce battle. IM known for his personals in previous battles was maybe considered the hot favourite for this one, but Flexplicit brought his A game. Round 1 was the strongest round from both MC’s and also in our opinion the decisive, yet hardest to call round. Both got off to a nervous start, but a couple lines in and they were away with the punchlines. IM coming out on top only just with crowd reactions and laughs, especially for the “JD shoe mirror” and the “80% knee cap” lines. Flexplicit came with the persies too with the dog schemes about “Muzzlein (Muzzleim) IM” and the “Tamwar from Eastenders” and “Punjabi MC” bars killed it. I would maybe shade it just to Flexplicit. Flex also had the better of round 2, again closely contested, but IM had more hit and miss lines, not getting as many crowd reactions and maybe more negative reactions. Round 3 went to IM, as the rounds got progressively slightly weaker, or maybe the crowd were not on the ball?… IM also had a nice flip to start the round, and got more personal (whether true or not) and killed Flex in the last round. All in all a very good contest, well matched. I give the battle 2-1 to Flexplicit although the judges thought it was 2-1/3-0 to IM.
