International Hip Hop artist Ether L Banks took to her soundcloud recently to release a brand new track called ‘Diary of a Rebel’ which is lifted from her forthcoming release ‘#RebelsVsPolitics’. Produced by IKE Beats, the beat is a a soulfully sampled, epic dreamy instrumental, on which Ether drops thought provoking lyricism, questioning the the purpose of life, whether she is able to change the world with her words and poetry, Ether feeling like she no longer wants to be held down, to break out of her ‘shell’. This track is a rather politically driven lyrical tune, with Ether L Banks also thinking about life, dropping deep bars to get you thinking also. Ether puts conviction and vigour in to her flow and delivery on the track, and in my opinion, coming across with a similar lyrical style to the likes of Nas.
