Redonda Ent present Herbal T’s new album “Perceptions” which features 13 tracks including a bonus, with production from Presidential G entirely. The production on the album reflects Herbal T grandeur and royalty that is conveyed in his music. Herbal T tackles social deprivation on ‘Concrete Dreams’, the lyrics reflecting the life of someone living in the ghetto. ‘Stand Alone’ is a perfect example of the royalty that Herbal T expresses in his lyrics, as well as stating that Redonda is royalty, Herbz rhymes about empires and emphasizing that he stands alone in war. ‘I’m A King’ further explores themes of royalty. Tracks like ‘The Power Of Words’ and ‘Lyricism’ see Herbal T expressing and displaying his passion and care for his craft as he rhymes with precision on the tracks, kicking superb flows and proving himself the wordsmith he no doubt is. Having to be aware of what is going on around him, Herbal T rhymes about such issues as government and politics on ‘Perceptions’, then expresses his opinions on the government killing in the middle east on ‘Middle Eastern Wars’. ‘What’s Your Click Like’ rhetorically asks how other cliques are like, as he reveals how he and his clique roll in the city, from living day to day, enjoying life and chilling to handling business and getting paid. The eerie production of ‘Hell Raisers’ samples the song of the same name by Tupac Shakur, with Herbal T depicting his troublesome, violent ways. ‘Pain’ is a move away from the raw, gritty production, and introduces a bass-heavy gully trap sound. Featuring L Don, the lyrics explore the universal pain that is experienced in all corners of the world. ‘Forgot The Halo’ features Gi, and featuring production from Presidential G that is a fusion of Boom Bap and trap elements. Gi delivers an excellent hook, nevertheless blunt and to the point as he points out with the use of a metaphor to sum up the attitude that both rappers are now employing.
