John Wayne – Fire In The Streets
South London rapper John Wayne gives Charlie that fire in the streets! John Wayne rhymes over the Project X ‘Intro’ instrumental, an atmospheric, deeply melancholy production on which Johnny drops lyricism in which he delivers thought-provoking and perspective bars. John Wayne reminisces about the past, concluding that you have to move with the times and replace the old with the new, speaking on the many people that have tried to live the same life that Johnny has, eventually coming against him and failing, becoming a no show. John also rhymes about his money-getter attitude, snitches and haters that he disassociates himself with. Some of Johnny’s bars are hard-edged and depict the road life that John may lead or have led, where as he can switch around and drop a few cheeky bars about the girls that he has on lock, but eventually he concludes the freestyle with some positivity and and looking to the future. John Wayne goes in with the lyrical content, the freestyle packing a few nice punchlines, and John kills it with the breath-taking flow and smooth delivery.
