Kid Bookie – Hey
Kid Bookie recently unleashed the visuals for ‘Hey’, taken from 2016’s ‘You’ll Rate Me When I’m Dead’. Filmed, directed and edited by Wowa & George Barnes, the vibrantly colourful video allows us to delve more in to the world that exists in Kid Bookie’s mind, whilst the lyrics explores his intoxicated lifestyle, the use of alcohol and, or, drugs that leaves him stumbling drunk, or lost on another planet. In some way, it seems that Kid Bookie is questioning the morals of society today, trying to impress a girl, or to show off for social media. Kid Bookie delivers well-structured, fast-paced lyrics on a dark and gloomy production, neither grime or rap, rife with trickling synths and heavy-hitting drums, just slowing down for the distorted chorus. More experimental than most, Kid Bookie’s sound is raw, and genre-defying, something that his music plays homage to.
2017’s ‘Publish This’ album is well underway and will be served before the years end. Kid Bookie has also released ‘Throw Away Music Vol. 2’ this month. Watch the captivating visuals for the track below, and also check out the remix to ‘Hey’ featuring D12’s Swifty McVay too. Leave us your feedback in the comments section.
