Kid Bookie releases a brand new track via his soundcloud called “Like A Dream”. Bringing a fast, rapid and skippy Grime flow to the Hip Hop production, Bookie rhymes lyrics that depict how far he has come, from dabbling in drugs, running around trying to make a wage, writing his lyrics and hoping to make a wage from his tracks. The second verse features Bookie talking about how 2014, he is surrounded by snakey friends, dropping words of wisdom about how you shouldn’t trust anybody. Kid Bookie sprays excellent lyrics, coming across at first as a young careless artist starting out, but from the second verse you realise that accomplishing his dream, Kid Bookie has picked up some life’s lessons. The chorus is delivered in a sing-song Hopsin-esque style in my delivery, with a sharp tongue in the lyrics that Bookie delivers also reminds me of the likes of Hopsin. Like A Dream is a deep track from Kid Bookie, reflecting on how far he has come, reminding himself that it feels like a dream.
