Kid Bookie Presents Cliche EP
Regular collaborators Kid Bookie and Cliche team for a new EP between the two mc’s, featuring five tracks altogether. Both Kid Bookie and Cliche open up the project with ‘Styling Out’, with skippy and fast-paced flows from both and the lyrics are completely nuts. ‘Dreaming’ is a change from the up-tempo Grime production of the former, lyrics depicting both artists dreams of success. Kid Bookie and Cliche change up their style dramatically almost, still double timing on the slow, sauntering and melancholy beat. ‘If I Died’ provokes sense of poignancy as both Bookie and Cliche ponder on what become of them and their lasting memory and name if they were to pass. The combination of the mellow, wavering melody and Kid Bookie’s wonderfully sung chorus also injects sadness. ‘Radio’ is a more uplifting song as a whole, the production is motivational, as Cliche rhymes about his progression as an artist, improving all of the time and reaching a pivotal point in his career, expressing his humbleness as to feeling blessed for the opportunity. The final track is called ‘Misread It’ and sees Kid Bookie and Cliche spit on a hard hitting beat with pitter-patter of futuristic melody, as both mc’s state their intentions going forward, not in it to be liked but put in non-stop work and seemingly deliver substance in their music, proving doubters wrong and surpassing haters and rivals. Stream this sometime emotional EP from Kid Bookie and Cliche, combining outlandish and witty lyricism on one hand and introspective, emotive music that showcases both artists integrity.
