Logan Sama Ruff Sqwad Mix For Clash Mag
In conjunction with Clash Mag, DJ Logan Sama takes to soundcloud to release 50 minute mix, for streaming and free download, to celebrate a decade since the release of one of grime’s pioneering tracks ‘Pulse X’. With Grime currently pushing boundaries and barging through to the masses, yet keeping the grittiness and griminess that is associated with it, Clash Mag brought Prince Rapid, a part of legendary Ruff Sqwad and producer behind Chip’s infamous ‘Pepper Riddim’, and a pioneering Grime DJ in his own right, and one to take Grime to the larger audiences and mainstream radio, Logan Sama together for an exclusive mix which pits the two against each other in a Ruff Sqwad mix, blending and mixing both instrumental and vocal. Prince and Logan take you from the likes of the DJ XTC’s rhythmic and classic ‘Functions On A Low’, via much hype vocal tracks as ‘Xtra’, ‘Down’, and ‘Im From A Place’, tracks that also had garage influences, through to such tracks as ‘Top 3 Selected’ produced by Rapid, and to current tracks from Rapid with productions and vocals, including the self titled ‘Prince’, and ‘Yesterday’ featuring Ghetts, Tinchy Stryder, JME and Dirt David, and ‘Mission’. The mix showcases the transition that Ruff Sqwad, consisting of Rapid, Tinchy Stryder, Dirty Danger, Slix and Sir Spyro, Fuda Guy and much more have gone through over the years, always keeping moving forward and re-inventing their sound in the grime scene.
