Nottingham MC, The Compression Lord Mez is back with this dutty, intoxicating banger ”Magnum”, a lively, bassline-riddled, beat-galloping, siren-wailing grime riddim produced by Diamondz (Bluku Music). The cheeky and charismatic Mez sprays relentlessly over the warped production, displaying lyrical genius and laying down what is bound to be the most reloaded hook this year, storming through a drum and bass beat break beat. Magnum serves as a love potion for Mez, who drinks it by the load at raves, at home or linking gyal, even mixing with tea!

Mez, ”The MC’s MC’, has opened shows for some of the greatest MC’s such as Skepta and D Double E, at sold-out shows at Alexandra Palace and O2 Academy Islington, he’s supported Stormzy and Kano on tour and can also cite the likes of Boiler Room and Eskimo Dance as his mates. He has battled on Lord of the Mics and he has frequented festival line-ups including Born N Bred and NASS, showing he’s no stranger to the big stage.

Seen as having a cheeky demeanor, being a hype MC and a general G in the Grime scene, Mez stands out as something more than just and MC. Having already boldly performed Grime with a live orchestra alongside AJ Tracey for BBC Radio 1Xtra, Mez also recently took on a Jazz improvisation with Henry Wu and his new Kamall Williams ensemble at the Redbull Studios for an epic 10 minute, one take freestyle, showing a fearlessness in putting his own stamp on Grime.
