UK Hip Hop artists Michee and Ekeno collaborated recently for a track called “Insight” via Ekeno’s soundcloud. Michee starts off on the hard hitting, grainy Hip Hop production which features piano keys for the melody predominantly. The title says it all as both rappers give you an insight in their lives, rather than rhyming about a fairytale life where everything is cosy, they paint a picture of sleepless nights, pressures of everyday life whilst trying to be a music star. Ekeno rhymes about his own lifestyle, trying to bring in the bread, ducking death, just trying to pursue his dreams. Both of these artists seem desperate to escape the lifestyle they both lead, and to proceed to a better life and achieve both their dreams. The hook features incredible singing from Ekeno, bringing yet another vibe to the song, whilst Michee and Ekeno having contrasting styles, yet they complement each other, Michee lyrical to the point you have to read between the lines, flowing seamlessly, and Ekeno’s delivery is hard hitting and to the point lyricism, nevertheless, a lot of lyrical content close to their hearts.
