Grime MC Reckless took to soundcloud recently to release a double dose of studio grime freestyles. ‘Pull Up Dat’ features Reckless spraying over a instrumental with a heavy bassline, bringing with him an excellent display of play on words, as he sets out to prove a point that he can bury any mc and that he is one of the best barrers in the grime scene. Reckless also pars inferior competition, and attacks those that go on like bad boys and can’t back it. Reckless possesses comical delivery as well as breath-taking flow, and showcases some of his own gimmicks in the track. Reckless carries those gimmicks and trademark vocal fx over to ‘Doin’ It’, as he kicks bars that pack more than a punch over organs and skippy beat with skankin’ vibes. Reckless matches the production with skippy flows of his own, delivering fight talk, dropping old school grime flows reminiscent of the likes of various artists in So Solid Crew, D Double E and Flirta D to name a few. Reckless rains down bars directed at those stepping to him and running their mouths, and again with rapid flows and precise delivery. Reckless duppys both grime beats, reminding me of the true essence of grime music, slewing rival mc’s with pars and much more heavyweight bars effortlessly, and he displays different flows and unique delivery.
