Following the success of the Wayne’s World 2 mixtape last year, emerging North London musician Tion Wayne is back with a bang to kick off the new year, with a track called ‘Minor’. Produced by one of the hottest production teams in the UK currently, Team Salut, this is a soulful tune with Caribbean and African party vibes, with Tion riding the beat with a calmness and laid back manner, rhyming in his deep vocal tones, delivering a sing-along chorus too on this infectious riddim. The visuals some of the finer things in life that Tion Wayne has become accustomed to, expensive cars and popping bottles, and soaking up the atmosphere of a house party often accompanied by peng ladies.
This rising talent has already gained much popularity on Youtube with videos for ‘Can’t Go Broke’, ‘Bae’ and ‘Me Or The Lifestyle’, which collectively have reached over 5 million views. ‘Minor’ alone has racked up quarter of a million views in the first week since it’s release via Link Up TV. The Wayne’s World 2 mixtape released in 2016 reached #3 in the worldwide iTunes Hip Hop chart and peaked at #13 in the overall chart. These were some strong foundations on which Tion Wayne was able to perform at a sell-out headline show at Dingwalls in Camden featuring some of the UK’s biggest and rising starts including Scorcher, Geko, Dave and AJ Tracey. His presence has also been made known on stage at Birmingham’s O2 Academy, SSE Wembley Arena, and he’s supported artists such as Dej Loaf, Rick Ross and Sarkodie.
