London-based R&B Singer/Songwriter Jovel has just recently released compelling visuals for ‘Pass Me By’, as he prepares to release his soulful debut EP “The Void”, produced by Neil Comber, on 20th June 2016. The singer who has worked with likes of Andreya Triana, Django Django and M.I.A, deals with depression and suicide on this track. Jovel delivers quite chilling, echoing vocals over the haunting and ambient, bass-booming fusion of Hip Hop and Soul. The music video is rather emotive and the story-telling in the visuals shot by independent filmmaker Patrick Odour are fantastic, taking in the landscape and focusing on the vacant, distraught facial expressions of the actor in the video. Jovel is also innovatively using social media to promote the new EP by releasing each track and video on his Instagram account, in 15 second short videos as part of a 25-part short film ‘The Void: An Instagram Movie’.
