Kid Bracer – AREA 51 (EP)
Kid Bracer is back with a surprise drop, “AREA 51” EP, his second project released as a gift on his birthday. The follow up to the debut EP “KidOnTheBlockEP”, Kid Bracer unleashes the AREA 51 EP which he states is a different, experimental and creative project, explaining the title for the EP, “. . . I just look at it as a place I was in when I was finding myself, I was in a place I wasn’t meant to be and it brought the best out of me. AREA 51 very secretive and dark and that’s what describes this whole project.” Having had fun with the making of AREA 51, Kid Bracer includes the popular ‘Pandora’ sequel, the third instalment specifically, and like much of the production, is heavily Trap influenced, the beats being hard hitting, the melodies mostly chiming and hypnotic.
Throughout the EP, there are skits which add to the theme and story of the project, such as the opening track which takes a sound byteee talking about AREA 51 and CIA’s top secret aircraft project Aquatone, which this track produced by Teru is named after. Kid Bracer displays much confidence which he does so through out the EP, delivering gritty lyrics which distance him from the followers and sheep. As with tracks like this and ‘Pandora 3’, produced by Yung Trel, Bracer showcases superb wordplay skills. The latter of these two tracks features some humorous delivery and bars from Kid Bracer.
Kid Bracer serves up a bass-booming Trap banger produced by Richh552, entitled ‘Juice’. Featuring Nehmy, Kid Bracer concocts a rather infectious hook fit for such a trapesque banger. This track displays impressive alliteration skills and and a switch up flows from Nehmy and Kid Bracer. Same repercussions for getting too close to AREA 51, on ‘Press Play’ as well as displaying quick-fire flows over Playlife’s energetic production, Kid Bracer goes in with lyrics that would serve as collateral damage if you’re in the proximity. Lash Vanegro features on this track with some great half time flow. The final track on the EP is called ‘Zone’, produced by Clyad. This one is gully trap tune featuring lyrics which drill home the idea that Kid Bracer is something different and a mystery like anything inside the AREA 51 perimeter. Kid Bracer riddles the beat quick-fire flows and sharp lyricism. Taylor Made handles the hook which is to the point and blunt, talking about trapping, as he goes on to spit metaphorically about the trap zone.
Kid Bracer’s sophomore EP has a brilliant theme which he runs with through out the whole project. Kid Bracer also serves up nothing but bangers with original production, not to mention hard hitting, and his lyrical prowess is impeccable, and he keeps your attention with ever-changing delivery and flows. Already looking forward to “KidOnTheBlock2” which Kid Bracer promises is on the way.
