The last few months have been made for Setting Pace MC and DJ Luda, having played out in Ayia Napa and being involved in Who’s Setting Pace? Radio, which is growing in popularity fast. Luda now returns with a six track EP “Guess Who’s Back Pt1”. The EP consists of some heavy hitters both and grime. The intro to the project features Luda reminiscing on his beginnings, and trying to put his life and purpose in to focus. This is followed up by ‘Can’t Aim At SP’ produced by Highfonics, on which Luda goes in over a dark, haunting, bass-laden beat along with Jez, both carrying Setting Pace on their back as they deliver collateral damage to their rivals. Hibbz features on ‘Straight 2 The Top’ which emphasizes the duo’s non-stop work and their rapid rise to the top. Luda also gives us a couple of bangers for the streets and about the trap lifestyle, ‘Get Dem Peez’ which is obviously about the means of how Luda gets paid. ‘Scarface’ is inspired by the film itself, sampling Tony’s Theme. This one sees Luda telling a story of money, power and respect, as he lays down the code of the streets, the rules you stick to if you want to get by. Luda showcases great story telling abilities on this one. The last track, ‘Go In Hard 4 Dem!’ is literally what it says on the tin. Luda goes in! He gives you all a gully trap banger with nothing but hard hitting, cruddy bars.
