Quintessentially eccentrically British rapper Mikill Pane drops a new video for forthcoming single “Blame Miss Barclay”, taken from the new album of the same name. Mikill rhymes about the reason he is the artist he is today, paying tribute to his English teacher. The beat is a rock/hip hop beastie boys inspired banger, where Pane flows effortlessly over the beat with his unique style of spitting. I have previously drawn comparisons to Mike Skinner before, throw in a bit of Pharoahe Monch and you are nearly there. Mikill Pane is a fun and quirky artist, whose story telling is unparalleled in UK hip hop, proving REAL rap doesn’t have to be a fantasy of harsh realities, crime and misery. The realness in Pane’s music is relatable to most and he keeps it truly Hip Hop to boot.
