This brand new radio rip from Mistajam’s BBC Radio 1Xtra show features a premiere of DJ Cameo’s brand new single, ‘Let Em Know’, which is featured on his upcoming ‘Gimme Grime’ album out in early 2015. The track is a booming, bass-rich Trap/Grime production by J Ellis, featuring artists Scrufizzer, Kozzie, Lady Leshurr, Big Narstie, and former X Factor participants Rough Copy. All MC’s involved drop energetic, rapid bars over the beat, in a moving track, on which they reflect on how fast things change in their careers, how far they have come, addressing mc’s who are not on their level, and in Lady Leshurr’s case, rhyming about the her money-getting attitude, swerving negative vibes, but warning that if necessary, she can dead an mc lyrically. Big Narstie joins Rough Copy in laying down singing vocals, in comfy style in in Big Narstie’s case. Rough Copy deliver a big hook, for a stand-up style anthem of sorts. The epic production and vocals, taking Rough Copy and turning them in to a quality sounding vocal RnB trio, and the lyricism by the mc’s, opening up about who they really are and what they are about in life and musically, makes for a top-notch single, and it definitely deserves some visuals.
