ABSORB was in Session last weekend, as he was joined by DJ Hadoshrooms on BBC Introducing in the North West (Newcastle), to perform three new tracks. The Grime and Bass MC and DJ link up to perform ‘Triple X Hell’, a dark and moody, thudding grime riddim with ABSORB spraying punishing vocals, breath-taking with the flow and delivery. ‘Smack’ is a straight grime banger on which ABSORB delivers a hype chorus with insane ad libs. The production is gully, loaded with synths and militant trumpets. The chorus is rather infectious too. ‘Lion’ is the final track that ABSORB and Hadoshrooms perform, and is influenced by Bass and Dubstep. A kicking production similar to that of the likes of Flux Pavilion, this is club-worthy track with laser-beam synths on the hook, with simple and minimal but unforgettable lyrics from ABSORB who also goes in with the amazing flow.
If this is a taste of what is to come on ABSORB’s forthcoming , then all fans and listeners are in for an energy-filled, entertaining, yet unrelenting, punishing ride when he drops the project.
